Eliminate dairy, citrus, soy, corn, gluten, caffeine, alcohol and smoking. Avoid for a period of time of about two to three weeks. Then re-introduce one new food every couple of days. See if symptoms return or there is a negative reaction when re-introducing a food. Peppermint tea offers some relief of symptoms like abdominal pain, bloating, gas, diarrhea, and spasms. A diet of at least 75% raw foods (fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds. juices) can be invaluable for long term management.

Hypnosis can treat IBS. see www.hypnotherapistregister.com Try taking any herbal or food supplement that supports your digestive system. Digestive enzymes to help break down your fats, proteins and carbs. (if you have low stomach acid then supplement with Hydrochloric Acid). Acidophilus supplements or probiotics (live yoghurt) will increase your gut's good bacteria. This is important. If you are vegan or lactose intolerant then go for the dairy-free Acidophilus. Avoid Antibiotics and use only natural forms). Eat slowly, small amounts and rest after eating for good digestion. Peppermint oil (add a few drops to warm water) will relieve any spasms, bloating or flatulence. Chamomile tea is soothing on the digestive tract. Try to discover if you have any food intolerances. Keep a food diary. Do this the long hard way by food elimination process (cut out something everyday and see if you feel better) or the quick and expensive way by booking an Allergy Testing. Avoid stress (easier than it sounds) relax more often, gentle exercise often. Consult a Herbalist and see what herbs can be taken for IBS. Wishing you the best of health ! Best of luck :-)

Chinese medicine effectively and safely addresses IBS by addressing the root cause of the digestive imbalance depending on how your IBS presents; you can completely reverse IBS using Chinese herb formulas, acupuncture, qi gong meditations, and Chinese food therapy.

Eat a fiber-rich diet. Include a high-fiber breakfast cereal in your morning meal, add extra servings of vegetables to your lunch and dinner, and substitute whole organic fruit for chips at snack time. Unfortunately, it isn't a single food that causes IBS, it's any food high in fat, insoluble fiber, carbonation, coffee (even decaf) and alcohol. These foods directly affect your colon muscles and can lead to gas, bloating, pain, diarrhea AND constipation. Or try searching for homeopathic remedies products that will help you to overcome Ibs naturally.

There's no way to completely "cure" IBS (meaning you wouldn't need to worry about it in the future), but there are ways to help it a lot. Jen gave some good ideas of how to minimize the impact from the foods you eat (mostly eliminating some of the ones that would aggravate it), but there are other things that can help for most types of foods. The first and main thing that I've seen quickly help reduce the impact of IBS is to take a good probiotic complex. Very commonly, people diagnosed with IBS don't have as much of the beneficial bacteria that helps regularity and plays a role in absorbing the nutrients in the intestinal tract. Both my mother and brother have IBS and they have noticed a HUGE difference when they are taking probiotics (and they can easily notice when they haven't taken them for a few days). Second, taking a good digestive enzyme complex can help to break down the food in your stomach more efficiently. This helps a lot of people I have talked with... not as much as the probiotics, but they both help in different ways and can safely be taken together. Aside from that, just watch the foods you eat and try keeping a food diary so you can note what foods tend to give you what kinds of reactions (so you'll know what to stay away from more). That was one of the better recommendations in some of the books I've read about IBS (including "The IBS Solution"... a good book that helped my mom a lot). Good luck and I hope I helped!

Try to change your diet. IBS can be caused by fruit, soda, milk/cheese, chocolate(caffeine),cigarettes (nicotine products). Tea is low in caffeine and can be used in some cases. All of these might be the problem try limiting these things or cut them out of your diet completely. Some have substitutions like soy milk or lactose free milk can be used instead of milk. Other substitutes can be used to help give you body what you need like vegetables instead of fruit.
