    So far there is no cure for IBS, but there are plenty of helpful treatments and in time you may be able to experience a remission. Have you tried any herbal remedies yet? If not, I recommend peppermint, chamomile, ginger and fennel. These are all good for soothing the stomach. You can take peppermint oil, tea, or even plain peppermint candy (do not chew, but dissolve it in your mouth like a lozenge for better absorption). The other herbs are especially good in teas. Try Celestial Seasonings' "Tummy Mint" tea, which contains a combination of stomach-soothing herbs. Their new "Honey Peach Ginger" is perfect to drink after a meal--the ginger helps with digestion. You can find Celestial Seasonings teas at most grocery stores. I'd also recommend exercise as an essential part of your IBS treatment plan. If your stomach feels unsettled after a meal, take a walk at a gentle pace. I know from personal experience that this really helps.
